
Furthermore, there is a high level of awareness among engineers and workers regarding the implementation of safety and health program of the contractors hired by the educational institutions. Through a researcher made questionnaire (α = 0.957) and basic descriptive (mean and standard deviation) and inferential (Pearson r) statistics, findings reveal that the high level of knowledge is attributed to the observance of government training and regulations on safety through the DOLE in cooperation with DPWH, on the construction sites.

Employing a descriptive correlation approach, this investigation ascertained the relationship between the levels of safety awareness and compliance of the respondents for such program as advocated by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
